India’s aspiring and energetic lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3, is set to make an outstanding contribution to scientific research. Launched by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on July 14, 2023, the mission aims to demonstrate a safe and soft landing on the lunar surface.

• The mission’s primary objective is to perform a successful soft landing on the lunar surface and conduct further scientific investigations.
• The rover will embark on a 14-day mission.
• It will conduct groundbreaking experiments using its payloads RAMBHA and ILSA.
• The experiments are designed to provide scientists with a better understanding of the moon’s atmosphere and mineral composition.
• The rover is equipped with the LASER Induced Breakdown Spectroscope (LIBS) and the Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer (APXS).
• It will analyze the chemical composition of the lunar surface, rocks, and soil.
• The mission marks a significant step for India in space exploration and paves the way for future interplanetary missions.
• Chandrayaan-3 is expected to land on the moon at 5.47 pm on August 23, 2023.
